One Phone Call, One Acquisition

2 min read

For two years, a fast-growing French fintech had been looking for a solution. To gain market share, it needed a specific regulatory licence. The fastest route was to acquire a company that already held one. But after two years of searching, nothing had come through.

A member of its board introduced me to the founders. After a first meeting, we started working together: defining exactly what kind of company to look for, which asset really mattered, and which criteria were non-negotiable.

Once the target was clearly defined, a single phone call was enough to find the solution.

Six months later, the fintech had acquired the company.

In this business, the difference isn't made through listings. It comes from network, discretion and the ability to open unusual conversations between parties whose interests sometimes diverge, often from two worlds that don't know each other.

That ability rests on more than fifteen years of business development across very different sectors: banking and FX trading floors, tech and real estate. Moving from one world to another taught me to speak each one's language.

My role is to bridge those worlds, drawing on technical, geo-economic and relational insight to bring exceptional transactions to completion.
